The Copper Tea Kettle
Almost everyone has tried using a copper tea kettle. Whether as a
decoration or as a way to prepare and serve tea, this kind of kettle has truly been a symbol of the styles of
European tradition. Much contributes to the success of the copper tea kettles in general. Aesthetically, they look
good, and channel a sophisticated vibe. They are effective heat conductors, able to boil water and brew tea in an
instant. Best of all, they are relatively cheaper than their other counterparts. For designers, they
are used as a focal point in minimalist contemporary styles. These elegant pieces have many uses because of modern
technology; they have been upgraded to be very efficient kettles. They are made with very high quality
copper.
One of the main selling points of a copper tea kettle is that it is a very reliable heat conductor. It
heats up in practically in no time, which is why many people opt for it. They save energy and gas so this is
perfect for those who want their tea fast and good. You don’t have to sacrifice the taste of your tea. While it
does heat up quickly, it still steeps the tea very well. Copper tea kettles today are very durable, and last a
very long time and you will really get your money’s worth with these.
Copper is quite reactive so it’s best for boiling water. You can get your water at the
perfect temperature to use while steeping the tea. Some teas might damage the interior of the copper when it
reacts, so it’s not worth the risk. You can use such kettles for their decorative purposes, but they are
also very useful to use in the kitchen, given that you take care of it properly. Copper is a metal that tends to
easily tarnish and you don’t have to worry about this, as you can easily remove those blemishes if you
clean your own kettle regularly.
To polish the
copper tea kettle , simply fill it up with water about half to three fourths full, and allow it to heat on
the stovetop. Use a medium heat for this. When the water boils, turn off the heat, discard the water and let
the tea kettle completely cool. Make a paste using two parts lemon and one part salt as this will act as an
abrasive to slough off all of the blemishes. Just rub it on the copper kettle very thoroughly. Once you’re
sure that every part is well soaked with the paste, wash it very well using regular soap and water. Dry it
well and your kettle will be as good as new.
Remember that you should never use your
copper tea kettle on very high temperatures. This tends to damage the copper, and you won’t be able to use it
anymore. Unlike cast iron tea kettles, these cannot take as high temperatures because they are thin walled,
which is the key to their high conductivity. All in all, copper tea kettles are great to use in the kitchen
and as a part of the overall design of the house.
