Tea Basics
For almost 3000 years, tea drinking has been one of the
favorite past times around the globe. It has crawled its way from the east to the west, greatly
influencing everyone who tasted it. For a typical non-tea lover, tasting a tea can be a daunting task. Some say
that the flavor of a tea is generally blunt compared to the rich taste of a coffee. But as more tea is being
consumed around the world each year, it is a must to just try to have a sip of this second most consumed liquid in
the world.
So what are the things to remember if you are going to taste a cup of tea for the first time?
Well, first things first, when trying to taste tea for the first time, always remember to start by drinking a brew
from loose tea leaves. Although teabags are readily available and rampant nowadays, nothing can surpass the quality
of taste and aroma of fresh loose tea leaves.
Another thing to consider when drinking tea is the type of tea you are going to drink. There are
a lot of varieties to choose from - from black tea, white tea, green tea to oolong tea, the kinds of teas may
seems limitless. Yet, regardless of the kind, teas generally taste best for beginners if they are infused
with some fruits and even some flowers.
Once adjusted to the taste of infused tea, it is now time to try the pure tea. One cannot
be a true tea lover if he or she hasn’t tried drinking tea in its purest and boldest form. Choose the tea, and
gently remove the infused factor whenever drinking it. Tea appreciation can only be attained by knowing the
different tastes of the different kinds of teas.
Drinking pure tea may be a very challenging task, but starting with the most clear and simple one can make a
difference. Start by trying first the white tea, and then eventually shift to the other types of tea, until
you reach the boldest flavored one, which is the black tea.
Upon tasting and sampling all of the teas, it is now time to consider and choose the perfect
type of tea. Remember that tea harbors so many characteristics and benefits. It can lower the blood cholesterol,
promote healthy skin and even help you lose weight. It is just a matter of choosing the right tea and the
right type of ingredients you want to infuse in it. With proper knowledge of this simple drink, you, as a
newbie in drinking this classic liquid, can enjoy this drink in just a short period of time.
Tea drinking has been very known and prominent through all times. Just always remember that
when drinking a cup of tea, you are opening yourself to a vast number of possible flavors and limitless
experimentations (you can infuse it with fruits, herbs, and even spices!). From being the chosen beverage of
the emperor, to an herbal medicine, and to being just a morning drink, tea has sculpted and influenced the
lives of many individuals in the world.
