How To Clean Your Teapot

You probably have cast iron tea pots in your kitchen. Being one of the most popular drinks all around the world, tea has been a fundamental beverage for all of us. We drink it in the morning, some during their lunch time, others while having their break, and the rest drink it during their dinner. Considerably, it is an all around staple for most people around the globe.

Tea’s fundamentality raised the function of the one which disperse it - the “teapot.” And with so many varieties that have evolved from a simple tea leaf, the humble teapot also gained variations from regions to regions. Some have porcelain teapots, some have glass, and the others are made from aluminums and cast iron teapots. Whatever materials these teapots are made from, one cannot argue that the best tea comes from the cleanest and purest teapot in the world, and with this sense, we will focus our attention to the most common teapots in our region.

So what are the things to be done in washing your own cast iron teapot?

The freshest and tastiest tea comes from the cleanest container that will be holding it. So whenever you are preparing your tea, always reassure yourself that no other contaminants are there to alter the subtle and unique flavor of your beverage. Although some tea professionals suggest not cleaning your teapot too often, you must also ensure the safety of your beverage.

One of the most common techniques of cleaning your teapot is by washing it in lukewarm water and then drying it up with a soft towel. This is really an effective way of ensuring the cleanliness and quality of your cast iron teapot, but sometimes there are these water marks or tea stains that are left behind. What most people will do in order to remove those stains is using mild dishwashing detergent then washing it up with warn water.

If you are more sensitive with your teapot, you can consider using baby cleaning tools and agents for it. It has been proven that using Milton sterilizing fluid together with proper quantity of cold water can do magic on your cast iron teapots. All you have to do is to prepare the solution, soak your teapot for an hour, and then wash it with lukewarm water. For the hard to reach areas, like the sprout, you can use a baby bottle brush. Just soak the brush in the solution, brush the sprout, and you can attain an overall cleansed teapot.

Another way of cleaning your teapot and ensuring its glow is by using baking soda. You will boil the soda in water and let it stand in there. After that rinse your teapot with water, and then dry it. Remember to keep your teapot in a dry place since moisture from the air can corrode the plating of your pot.

There are so many ways of cleaning your cast iron teapot, but the things which are written above is the most tested and effective way of cleaning it. Anyway, whatever technique you are using, just remember that the best and optimum tea experience comes from the cleanest teapot you can find.
